Front Office Staff

Penny Knight, Sponsor

Penny has been the Knights sole sponsor from day one. She and her husband Phil have supported the program with much care and generosity. The team's growth and its winning tradition are strong thanks to Penny's commitment to the club.

Joe Segel, Co-founder

Joe co-founded Knights Baseball Club with his brother Dan. Joe works with Penny to make sure the program is running smoothly. Joe sits on the club's board of directors. Segel also sits on the Aloha High School Baseball Alumni Association board. Joe coached baseball as an assistant at Westview High School in Beaverton, Oregon in the nineties. On occasion, he will pitch batting practice for the Knights. Joe has worked for the Knight family for more than 20 years.

Dan Segel, CEO

Dan is CEO and chairman of the board of Knights Baseball Club, Inc. Dan was named West Coast League Executive of the Year in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

An alumnus of Linn-Benton Community College, Dan was inducted into the NWAC Hall of Fame in 2005 and was named Linn-Benton CC's Distinguished Alumni of the Year for 2016. He is currently the chair of the Linn-Benton CC athletics advisory board.

He is a graduate of Aloha High School, Linn-Benton CC and Northwest Missouri State University, and was an all-conference first baseman at NW Missouri State in 1987 and 1988.

Dan resides in Portland with his wife, Courtney, and their three sons, Kaden, Kellen and Conor.

Brooke Knight, Head Coach

Brooke skippered the Knights to their first West Coast League crown as a rookie head coach in 2008, added a second title in 2011, a third championship in 2013 and a fourth in 2016. He also directed them to seven consecutive West/South Division regular-season titles from 2008-14; to the 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and WCL Championship Series; to the 2016 South Division title, and to the 2015 playoffs as the wild-card selection.

Knight was the West Coast League Coach of the Year in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2013. His nine-year mark as the Knights' field general is 412-191 (.683) overall and a 339-177 (.657) in West Coast League games. The Knights also won the WCL's Jim Dietz Sportsmanship Award in 2008, and shared it with Wenatchee in 2016.

Brooke will mark his 11th year in management with the Knights in 2016. He played college baseball at Oregon State and at Western Oregon, and for the Knights during the summers of 1991, 1992 and 1994.

No relation to the Knight family, Brooke played professionally in the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations. Brooke also played football at OSU and played and coached baseball professionally in Australia where he met his wife, Karlie.

Brooke coached the Perth Heat in the MLB-funded Australian Baseball League to back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012. After a season off, he returned to coach the Adelaide Bite in 2013-14 and in 2014-15. The Bite won the 2015 regular-season title before losing to Perth in the championship finals.

He also assisted legendary Corvallis Richey's Market American Legion coach Dick McClain for six seasons, and scouted in the San Diego area for the Montreal Expos (2001) and the Florida Marlins (2002-2003).

Brooke is a native of Corvallis and a graduate of Crescent Valley High School and Western Oregon. The CEO of Knight Financial Home Loans, he and his wife, Karlie, live in San Diego in the offseason. Their son, Briley, will be a senior at Coronado High School in 2017-18.

Bre Miller, President/General Manager

Bre will begin her 11th year with the Knights in the 2017 season. Promoted to president in Dec., 2016, after four seasons as the GM, she will continue her duties as the team's general manager.

The Knights' 2011 Employee of the Year, Bre is also the director of business development. She's worked with the Knights ever since their move to Corvallis from Gresham, starting as an intern in 2007.

Bre is a graduate of the Leadership Corvallis' Class of 2013 and Leadership Albany's Class of 2014. She is also very active in Rotary, and serves on the board of directors for many area community public service organizations.

Born and raised in Corvallis, Bre grew up playing sports and played varsity soccer at Crescent Valley and Corvallis high schools. She's been around baseball her entire life, starting as a volunteer at Richey's Market American Legion games in the summer.

Bre graduated from Corvallis High in 2004 and earned a degree in speech communications from Oregon State in 2009. She resides in Monroe with her husband Bryan and their daughter Harper.

Holly Jones, Chief Operating Officer

The 2017 season will be Holly's third season full-time with the Knights and her sixth season with the organization in total. Holly interned with the Knights while the team was in Gresham (2005-2006) and was the assistant to president Dan Segel in 2007 when the team moved to Corvallis.

A 2007 graduate of the University of Oregon, Jones spent nearly five years after college in New York City, working in partnership marketing roles for the NBA League Office and JetBlue Airways.

Jones returned to baseball as the founding general manager of the Victoria HarbourCats in 2012. The team finished second in average WCL attendance in their 2013 freshman outing, in addition to hosting the largest WCL All-Star game on record. Jones was named WCL Executive of the Year in the inaugural 2013 season. She remains the first and only female WCL Executive of the Year award winner.

Jones served as assistant general manager of the Florida State League's Charlotte Crabs in 2014. The team is the Advanced-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, who were then owned by Ripken Baseball. The team and Charlotte Sports Park facilities serve as host for Tampa Bay's Spring Training activities.

Yearning to be closer to home, Jones left Florida and came home to Oregon. She joined the Knights full-time as Senior Vice President of Operations in January 2015. She serves on the Visit Corvallis board of directors, and is Co-Chair of the Eugene Active 20-30 Club's Coats for Kids campaign.

Holly is a native of Eugene and graduated from Churchill High School. She resides in West Eugene with her two goldendoodles, Charles and Serena

Korey Kozaryn, Game Day/Promotions Manager

Korey "Koko" Kozaryn was named the Game Day/Promotions Manager in January of 2017.

Koko, originally from New Jersey, earned her BS in Sport Administration from Lock Haven University and is currently attending Montclair State University where she will graduate in May with a MS in Sport Administration and Coaching.

Kozaryn will be working during the pre-season to build and create the promotional schedule and her main focus during in-season will include directing the show, managing the promotional staff and organizing everything to do with promotions while helping to create a fun and memorable atmosphere for all fans.

Kozaryn previously worked for the Oklahoma City RedHawks, Oklahoma City Dodgers and The New Jersey Jackals.

Brooks Hatch, Director of Media Relations

Brooks joined the Knights in Jan., 2011, after a 34-year newspaper career, the last 26 of which were spent at the Corvallis Gazette-Times. He covered the Knights for the Gazette-Times for four seasons after they relocated to Corvallis from Gresham before the 2007 season. He was the Knights' 2014 Employee of the Year.

Brooks is a 1972 graduate of East Aurora (N.Y). High School, where he played baseball and soccer. He graduated from the University of Richmond (Va.) in 1976 with degrees in history and journalism. He worked at the Minot (N.D.) Daily News from 1976-79 and at the Bismarck (N.D.) Tribune from 1979-84 before moving to Corvallis to join the Gazette-Times in Oct., 1984.

Brooks has also worked as the Director of Writing/Sports Communication Assistant at Oregon State since Aug., 2014. He and his wife, Margi Dusek, have a son, Owen, a 2016 Crescent Valley High School graduate who now attends Oregon State.

Connor Lambert, Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach

A four-year letterman at Washington State, Connor has been the Knights' pitching coach since 2011. He was promoted to associate head coach for the 2016 season. The Knights led the WCL in ERA in 2011, 2012 and 2013; in 2011 they established a (since broken) WCL record for strikeouts (401).

Now in his third year as the Director of Baseball Operations at the University of Utah, Connor was the pitching coach at Tacoma Community College in 2013 and 2014. He graduated from WSU with a sociology degree and was a graduate assistant coach there in 2011.

Primarily a reliever at WSU, Connor was 11-3 lifetime. He capped his career by going 5-1 as a senior in 2010, with two saves and a 3.53 ERA, helping the Cougars advance to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row.

A graduate of River Ridge High School in Olympia, Wash., Lambert was a first-team all-state selection; the Pac-9 Conference MVP; the Olympian newspaper's Player of the Year, and a member of the Tacoma News Tribune newspaper's all-area team as a senior.
