Current Knight Chris Bishop of PLU Twirls No-No the Week Prior vs. Willamette

Ex-Knights' Southpaw Jace Fry of OSU Tosses No-Hitter vs. Northern Illinois.

On consecutive Saturdays in March, Knights' pitchers threw no-hitters and earned conference Pitcher of the Week honors.

The first masterpiece was by current Knight Chris Bishop of Pacific Lutheran University on March 1 at Willamette University. Bishop's no-no was the first nine-inning no-hitter in PLU history. Chris, who is returning for his third season with Corvallis this summer, faced only 29 batters, walking and hitting a batter, while striking out 5.

His performance earned the junior right-hander Northwest Conference and d3baseball.com Pitcher of the Week honors.

Last summer, Bishop earned second-team All-WCL honors for the title-winning Knights. Chris went 5-2 and posted a 2.66 ERA over 13 appearances, 5 starts and 50.2 innings pitched.

Fry (pictured following his no-hitter) stifled Northern Illinois on March 8 at Goss Stadium. The junior from Beaverton, Oregon struck out a career-best 10 batters and improved his record to 3-0 while lowering his ERA to 2.01 for the #4-ranked Beavers.

Today, Jace was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.

Fry pitched for Corvallis in 2011, and went 2-1 with a 1.40 ERA over 9 appearances, 8 starts and 38.1 innings pitched.
