Knights' Launch Reser's Oregon All-Star Series Website.

History, news, a promotional video and other information regarding the upcoming Reser's Oregon All-Star Series is now available at the official website, www.oregonallstarseries.com.

The site went live this morning, and should be a great spot for baseball fans, coaches, players and parents to learn more about the Oregon All-Star Series and keep informed on high school baseball.

The three-game series featuring the top graduated 6A/5A players in Oregon is scheduled for June 18-19 at Oregon State's Goss Stadium. A single game will be played at 6 p.m. on June 18, followed by a 2 p.m. doubleheader on June 19.

All-Stars from the North (primarily the Portland metropolitan area) will play stars from the South (mostly the rest of the state) in a three-game series. That format was popularized by the old Class 4A State-Metro Series, which was played in The Dalles from 1971-2007 before OSAA reclassification.

The team rosters and coaching staffs will be announced at a later date. They will be following in the footsteps of Dale Murphy, Darwin Barney, John Jaha, Danny Ainge, Mickey Lolich and many others who played in the Oregon All-Star Series and the major leagues.

An All-Star Game featuring the top senior high school baseball players in the state began in 1958 in Eugene. It later settled in The Dalles, where it celebrated its 50th anniversary in its last year at Quinton Street Ballpark in The Dalles. After leaving Quinton Street, the 5A series was played in Bend and the 6A series was played in McMinnville in 2008 and 2009. The two classifications combined and played in McMinnville at Linfield College in 2010.

The Corvallis Knights of the West Coast League will promote and operate the series. Reser's Fine Foods in the title sponsor. Nike Team Sports will provide uniforms and equipment for the players and coaches, and host an invite only reception for college, high school and youth coaches.
