Drew Leary - Pitcher - # 28

San Diego State

Casey Grogan: What has your experience been like with the Knights thus far?
Drew Leary: "It's been a blast. I played last summer in the Northwoods League and it's definitely better. From day one it's been a blast to be part of this team and get to know everybody, you just build some really good friendships."

CG: What is the most memorable ballpark that you have played in? Why?
DL: "Definitely Petco Park in San Diego. It's a big league park and it's unbelievable. We had one of the best pitchers Stephen Strasburg pitch."

CG: What is your favorite professional sports team? And who is your favorite professional athlete?
DL: "My favorite team is the Yankees. My whole family sre big Yankees fans; my grandpa grew up in New York. My favorite athlete is Vladimir Guerrero, I like the way he plays and he is just a great athlete; I love watching him.

CG: What is your favorite thing about San Diego?
DL: "It's been fun playing for Tony Gwynn. He is a good guy. You can't beat San Diego weather, I love playing there and it never gets hotter than 75, which beats playing in Vegas my whole life in 110 temperatues. It's just a good atmosphere."

CG: What has been the most memorable moment of your baseball career?
DL: "The 2005 state championship in high school. I was the winning pitcher, we won 4-0 and it was pretty fun."

CG: Who is your greatest influence in baseball?
DL: "My dad. He has always been the guy to push me when I was down and not playing very well, he's always been there pushing me to play better."
