Casey Grogan: What sports did you play while growing up?

Liam Baron: I played plenty of sports starting with t-ball, which moved onto baseball. I played Australian Rules Football, a bit of rugby, a bit of field hockey, a little bit of lacrosse, a bit of basketball I played them all.

CG: No cricket?

LB: I played indoor cricket, it's a quicker form and it's great.

CG: Specifically for you what was the baseball experience like in Australia?

LB: Baseball is a fairly international game now, so it is played about the same way around the world. I find that in Australia it is a little more physical at the high school and college level because we are allowed to take guys out, clean 'em up at the plate whenever, so that aspect was a little different not being able to go into second as hard. Other then that it is the same, the quality of baseball is higher here and the atmosphere is a lot better because the sport is a lot bigger in the US.

CG: What is your greatest baseball moment or memory?
LB: For me it was probably the Under-18 National Championships representing Western Australia. We went undefeated and it was the first time Western Australia had done it in 40 years. From there we went on to playing on the Australian team to qualify for the World Championships.

CG: Favorite athlete?

LB: Chris Judd (Carlton Football Club Navy Blues of the Australian Football League) he is an absolute athlete. He can do anything run, jump, kick, absolutely everything.

CG: Favorite baseball player?

LB: I would go with Peter Moylan (of Lesmurdie, Western Australia about 45 minutes from Baron's home city of Perth) from the (Atlanta) Braves.

CG: Favorite sports team?

LB: The Australian Men's National Baseball Team.

CG: If you weren't playing baseball what do you think you'd be doing? Or studying to do?

LB: Be at home living life at the beach and finishing my university degree back home.

CG: Favorite band or artist and why?

LB: Probably go with Wolfmother. They are an Australian band and put out a few good songs and are now known around the world.

CG: Favorite movie?

LB: The Patriot, it's Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger.

CG: Best class you've ever taken and why?

LB: Best class in the US so far was Sand Volleyball last term, the ladies were great and it was good weather.

CG: Word association, Corvallis.

LB: Oregon State.

CG: Goss Stadium.

LB: Home of the Beavers.

CG: Baseball.

LB: Life.
