James Nygren - Pitcher - # 23

Oregon State

Casey Grogan: What has your experience been like with the Knights thus far?
James Nygren: "I'm having a great time here with the Knights. The guys know how to play the game the right way. They are fun to be around and I am having a great time with the incoming guys that will be playing here at Oregon State."

CG: What is the most memorable ballpark that you have played in? Why?
JN: "It would have to be Safeco Field. It was a big league park and I'd never played in one before. I got to pitch there this last year and it was a great experience."

CG: What is your favorite professional sports team? And who is your favorite professional athlete?
JN: "Portland Trail Blazers. I grew up watching them and have loved them every since I saw them play. Favorite player is Albert Pujols simply for the fact that he plays the game hard, drops bombs and is one of the guys that has done it without extra help."

CG: What is your favorite thing about Corvallis?
JN: "The atmosphere that it has. Corvallis is a smaller town and the support is amazing."

CG: What has been the most memorable moment of your baseball career?
JN: "The first time I threw on a Beavers uniform and threw my first pitch. That was my dream growing up and it was one of the best moments of my life."

CG: Who is your greatest influence in baseball?
JN: "My head coach in high school Joe Tacchini, he taught me how to be a man and play the game the right way. The things he taught me helped me grow and got me to this level."
