Greg Mahle Earns WCL Player of the Week Honors.

Corvallis Knights frosh southpaw Greg Mahle of UC Santa Barbara tossed a no-hitter Friday, August 3 versus the Cowlitz Black Bears at Goss Stadium in Corvallis. The Knights' lefty also went 4-for-5 with a double and 2 RBIs to earn WCL Player of the Week honors for July 30-August 5.
Mahle (pictured) was the first Knight this summer to earn WCL Player of the Week accolades.
For the week, Mahle collected 13 hits over 27 at bats. He only faced 30 batters in his no-hitter walking three while striking out 6.
For the summer (as of August 6, 2012), Mahle is 2-1 with a 2.75 ERA and 2 saves as a pitcher. While not pitching, Mahle starts at first base and is hitting .345.
This past spring, Mahle hit .347 with 35 RBIs. On the mound, Greg went 3-4 and posted a 3.88 ERA while recording a team-leading 4 saves. Baseball America, Louisville Slugger Collegiate Baseball and Collegiate Baseball Writers Association all named Mahle to frosh all-america teams.
