Knights' southpaw Liam Baron of Linn-Benton CC was named West Coast League Player of the Week for July 13-19. The junior-to be threw a two-hit shutout vs. the Kitsap BlueJackets at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds on Friday, July 17.
Liam faced only two batters over the minimum and completed the whitewashing with only 87 pitches while striking out 4.
The Gonzaga-bound lefty from Perth, Australia leads the Knights in appearances with 16 and in saves with 5. Baron is 1-1 with a 2.01 ERA.
Liam helped the Knights continue their winning ways on the road as Corvallis swept division foe Kitsap. With the wins, Corvallis remained the #3 ranked summer collegiate club in Perfect Game Crosschecker's national poll released Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
