October 6, 2010Atlanta's Tommy Hanson Gets Game Two Start at San Francisco
Ex-Knights' ace Tommy Hanson of the Atlanta Braves is slated to pitch game two of the NLDS featuring the wild card Braves and NL West champion San Francisco Giants.
Game two is scheduled for Friday, October 8 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Game time is 6:30 pm.
Hanson followed up a stellar rookie season with Atlanta with a solid sophomore campaign.
Tommy went 10-11 with a 3.33 ERA for the resurgent Braves. Over 34 starts in the regular season, the right-hander from Redlands, California struck out a team-leading 173 batters.
Over two seasons and 55 starts, the Braves young gun is 21-15 with a 3.16 ERA.
Hanson has recorded 289 strikeouts over 330 1/3 major-league innings pitched.
The Riverside CC product went 11-4 with a 2.89 ERA as a rookie, and finished third in NL Rookie of the Year voting.
Tommy starred for the then Aloha Knights of Gresham in 2005 earning West Coast Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Year honors.
Hanson went 7-1 with a team-leading 0.92 ERA and 116 strikeouts.
Tommy still holds the Knights' franchise single-season record for ERA and strikeouts.
