Marc Rzepczynski of St. Louis celebrated a remarkable World Series title this past Friday night as the Cardinals beat Texas 6-2 in game seven to capture the Redbirds' 11th World Championship.
Rzepczynski (pictured pitching for the Knights) is the first Knights' alumnus to play in a World Series and win a World Series.
Marc pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the Cards' epic 10-9 eleven-inning game six victory, a game that will go down in the history books as possibly the best World Series contest ever played.
In total, Zep made four World Series relief appearances, pitched 2 2/3 innings and struck out four while walking none and allowing no runs.
The southpaw pitched for the then Aloha Knights in 2006 following his junior season at UC Riverside, going 6-0 with a 2.25 ERA to earn team Top Pitcher honors.
