October 7, 2014Cal Poly Alum Tosses 6.1 Shutout Innings at Comerica Park in First Post-Season Start
Knights' alum Bud Norris (pictured pitching at Lawrence Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas for the Knights in 2005) pitched 6 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball to earn the win in Baltimore's series clinching 2-1 victory over Detroit.
Bud struck out 6 in his first post-season start and only allowed two hits. The Orioles swept the Tigers and advance to play the Kansas City Royals in the American League Championship Series.
Norris pitched for the Knights in 2005 and earned first-team All-West Coast Collegiate Baseball League honors. Bud won 15 games for Baltimore during the 2014 regular season.
