Corvallis Knights Announce Heavy Hitting Advisory Board.

The Corvallis Knights of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League announced Thursday that the club had put together a team of advisors made up of businessmen with strong Corvallis ties. Mike Corwin, Tim Hennessy, Paul Pinion, Scott Sanders, John Schultz and Allen Snelling were introduced by team president Dan Segel as the club's inaugural advisory board.

The entire board has experience either as an Oregon State University athlete or athletic department administrator and has an accumulative community membership of nearly 150 years. Four advisory board members played baseball at OSU, one played football at OSU and one played basketball for the Beavers.

"Our advisory board has already made a significant impact. I credit their efforts to the momentum we are enjoying. It's a great group with a range of expertise who are absolutely passionate about the Beavers and baseball. Brooke Knight (team GM) did an outstanding job putting this team together," said Segel.

Corwin was recently named Business Person of the Year at the Celebrate Corvallis Awards. Mike has worked in the OSU athletic department, is currently the Assistant Vice President at OSU Federal Credit Union and still does some umpiring in the local area. Corwin has 25 years NCAA DI athletic administration experience and has been a member of the community for 26 years.

Hennessy is a close friend of OSU head baseball coach Pat Casey and avid Beavers fan. An independent insurance consultant for Gene Kiel & Associates, Hennessy is an OSU graduate and played basketball for the Beavs in the late 70s. Tim has been part of the community for 35 years and is a very successful businessman.

Pinion was born and raised in Corvallis. The former Corvallis High and Richey's Market star played baseball at Oregon State and graduated from the University in 1990. Pinion owns and operates a leading property management company in town named Pinion Property Management.

The OSU graduate is a supporter of OSU athletics and like Hennessy and Corwin he's been instrumental in the growth of the OSU baseball program. Scott owns and runs The Sanders Company and has excelled as a real estate developer. Scott has been a member of the community for 21 years.

Schultz was also born and raised in Corvallis. John is a huge Beavers fan and a football, basketball and baseball season ticket holder. Schultz has worked for Van Vleet Meat Co. for 15 years as a driver and sales person. He starred in baseball at Corvallis High, Richey's Market and Oregon State. Schultz graduated from OSU in 1994. John has also coached baseball.

Snelling was raised in nearby Newport, Oregon and starred at shortstop for Oregon State for four years (1992-1995). Allen went on to play professionally for two years in the Blue Jays organization. Snelling also played on the 1990 Richey's Market American Legion World Series team.
