Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, the home of the Oregon State Beavers and Corvallis Knights, is under construction. The latest expansion at Goss is getting closer to completion.
This past Friday, special guests, including OSU and Bend Elks' alum Jacoby Ellsbury of the New York Yankees and the Corvallis Knights front office, were treated to a tour of the facility and its new Jacoby Ellsbury Locker Room.
The tour started in the Locker Room, then headed to the field to check out the new FieldTurf and ended in the Omaha Room where Oregon State Athletic Director Bob De Carolis thanked Jacoby and all those who helped make the Stadium's new building and turf possible at a thoughtful reception for OSU's special guests.
Goss Stadium's infield FieldTurf has been replaced, and the outfield grass has been replaced with FieldTurf (pictured). The new turf should be playable here soon. In the meantime, coach Casey's Beavers have been practicing at Santiam Christian High School and Crescent Valley High School.
Jacoby was a huge hit at the reception, interacting enthusiastically with guests and autographing baseballs.
Construction is set to wrap by the Beavers' home opener on Friday, February 27 vs. Grambling State.
