11 Knights alums were selected in the 2008 MLB draft. Brent Morel was the first Knight picked this June. Morel played for the Knights in 2006 and 2007. He was the club's MVP in 2006. Brent was chosen by the Chicago White Sox in the 3rd round. Three Knights were picked in the first 10 rounds including Morel and Matt Hague of Oklahoma State (9th round by Pittsburgh) and Brent's teammate at Cal Poly SLO reliever Kevin Castner (10th round by Texas).
