May 8, 2012Art to be Reproduced on Special Knights Cap
The Corvallis Knights and da Vinci Days recently held a drawing contest as part of their PEAK Internet Science & Art Day promotion and the winning drawing came from a second-grade student at Philomath Elementary School named Hannah Faust.
Congrats, Hannah!
The drawings were judged by the Corvallis Arts & Culture Commission and Knights' ad agency (nonbox).
The contest was open to all elementary schools in the mid-valley including Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, Philomath, Jefferson, Scio, Monroe, Central Linn, Sweet Home and Alsea.
There were lots of wonderful entries (pictured is art recognized by the Corvallis A&CC and Knights' agency). The assignment was to draw something to be reproduced on a hat with the inspiration being the smile. The second part of the assignment was to write a story to accompany the art. The winner of the writing contest will be announced next week.
Hannah's art will be embroidered on several styles of hats and will be introduced at Science & Art Day at Goss Stadium on Wednesday, June 6. Game time is 11 am.
For winning, Hannah's class, taught by Heather Sprague, gets complimentary GA tickets for the Corvallis Knights Wednesday, June 13 game and complimentary hats featuring Hannah's design. Also, Hannah gets to throw out the first pitch at PEAK Internet Science & Art Day presented by da Vinci Days.
