14 Knights alums were selected in the 2009 MLB draft, a franchise best. Matt Way was the first Knight picked this June. Way starred for the Corvallis Knights in 2007. He was named the Top Prospect at the 2007 WCCBL All-Star Game as voted on by MLB scouts. Matt was picked by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 5th round. Six pitchers from the Knights 2007 pitching staff were drafted including Way, Blake Keitzman, Danny Bibona, Eric Massingham, Kevin Castner and Greg Peavey. West Coast League Pitcher of the Year Jared Eskew (pictured) of Cal Poly was picked in the 29th round by Florida.

Current Corvallis Knights pitcher Nick Struck of Mt. Hood CC was selected in the 39th round by the Chicago Cubs. Junior shortstop Kyle Smith of Cal Poly was picked in the 14th round by Cleveland. Smith has yet to report and may not make it to Corvallis as he might sign and start his professional career this summer.
