Tampa Bay Rays Pick Up Marisa Gorman

Knights Intern Called Up to the Bigs.

Superstar Corvallis Knights intern Marisa Gorman (pictured) accepted an internship position with the Tampa Bay Rays this past week.

Gorman, a recent graduate of Oregon State University, earned the highly sought after fan experience internship by impressing over several interviews.

She gets started in February.

The native of Portland and Westview High School grad earned a degree in Speech Communications at OSU and was a member of the Beavers' dance team from 2005-2008.

Marisa worked for the Knights as an intern the past two summers and was a fan favorite at Goss.

"We're going to miss Marisa. She's the absolute best and was a big part of our success over the past two seasons," said team president Dan Segel. "We are so excited for her."

Gorman's primary responsibilities include developing and managing all interactive fan activities and ensuring that the Rays game staff delivers outstanding customer service at Tropicana Field. She will also be assisting with various promotions, live entertainment and fan contests at Rays games and events.

"The two seasons I interned with the Knights made me want to pursue a career in professional athletics, and helped me gain the experience and confidence I needed to take this next step," said Marisa Gorman.

"I'm really looking forward to my internship with the Rays. Apparently, I'll be having a 'dance-off' with one of our coaches at some point this season...so I'll be brushing up on my sweet moves and for sure be rooting for the Knights from Florida!"
