The Corvallis Knights hosted the popular Joe Beaver Show aired from noon to 2 pm on KEJO 1240 AM, the flagship station of the Knights, at the team's downtown office.Mike Parker, the voice of the Oregon State Beavers and Knights, interviewed former Knights' Tommy Hanson of the Atlanta Braves and Brent Morel (pictured playing third base for Corvallis in 2007 at Goss Stadium) of the Chicago White Sox.
Following phone interviews with Hanson and Morel, Corvallis team president Dan Segel and Knights' intern (and Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year) Leslie Mak joined Parker live.
Hanson beat Houston 3-2 this past Monday to improve his record to 5-3 and lower his ERA to 2.35.
Morel, the White Sox starting third baseman, blasted a game-tying three-run homer last night to "wake up" Chicago as the Sox rallied to beat the Texas Rangers 4-3 (read more).
Hanson pitched for the Knights in 2005 and earned West Coast League Pitcher of the Year honors.
Morel played for the Knights in 2006 and was named the team's MVP. Brent also started three games at Goss Stadium for the 2007 Corvallis Knights before an injury cut short his sophomore summer season.
