Corvallis edges Kelowna 6-3, holds wild card lead.Closer Harrison McGhee of Concordia (pictured) registered his 7th save as the Knights extended their WCL win streak to five.

Starter Cory Nelson of Pacific Lutheran earned the win as the senior-to-be southpaw twirled seven gutty innings allowing only two runs while giving up 10 hits to improve his WCL mark to 3-1.

Designated hitter Cameron Bishop of UC Irvine led the offense going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a triple.

McGhee pitched a scoreless 9th-inning to extend his WCL scoreless streak to 15 innings and earn his team-leading 7th save.

Corvallis struck early scoring two runs in the first inning as Bishop delivered a two-out RBI single and infielder Christian Donahue of Oregon State scored on a two-out error to give the Knights the 2-0 lead.

The Knights scored three runs in the sixth to take a 6-1 advantage as Michael Farris of UC Riverside and Bishop led-off the inning with back-to-back triples to plate a run. Corvallis would add two more runs on an RBI ground out by shortstop Clayton Fisher of UC Santa Barbara and RBI single by LBCC outfielder Emilio Alcantar.

Alcantar and Donahue both collected two singles for Corvallis.

Incoming frosh Nick Madrigal of Oregon State swiped his 32nd base to tie him for the league lead in stolen bases with Aaron Stroosma of the Bellingham Bells. Madrigal and Stroosma currently own the single-season stolen bases record in the West Coast League.

With the win, Corvallis keeps its two game WCL wild card lead as Victoria beat Yakima Valley tonight 10-3 to take the series at Royal Athletic Park. The HarbourCats stay at two games behind the Knights and Yakima falls 3.5 games back. The Knights (29-20, 35-20) have now won 5 straight league games and have won 27 of their last 33 games overall.
