Corvallis clinches WCL West, wins title for fourth consecutive year. Knights beat Sweets 7-4.

"We waited all season and we worked hard for this," said Davis.
"I'm just seeing the ball well and I've been working with Coach Hanson doing a front toss before the game and he's really worked on getting my hands back and relaxing.
"I think that the difference between us now and then is that there is a lot more team chemistry, and we're also playing more relaxed. I know it's been a long summer and we all feel it, but just showing up to the yard everyday with the guys that we have on this team, it makes it fun and relaxing, and the coaches enjoy it too. So they kind of boost up the environment so there is no negativity."
The Knights captured its fourth straight WCL West crown with a division clinching 7-4 win vs. Walla Walla at Goss Stadium before a crowd of 1,408.
Corvallis jumped on the Sweets early plating two runs in the first.
Junior first baseman Dylan Jones of OSU delivered the game-winning hit stroking a RBI triple to center scoring JK Dykes of WSU who led off the game by getting hit by a pitch.
Leftfielder Michael Blake of Mt. Hood CC followed Jones triple with a RBI single.
Starter Aaron Corwin, a sophomore-to-be at Texas Tech, pitched four solid innings allowing only one hit and one run while striking out 6.
"I felt really good, got in my head a little bit in the second inning, but I was able to battle through it and I felt really good on the mound," said Corwin.
Dustin Emmons of UC Riverside replaced Corwin to start the fifth and pitched a scoreless inning while striking out 2 to earn the win, improving his record to 5-0.
Southpaw Matt Boyd finished the game and registered his fourth save of the summer as the frosh twirled two scoreless innings.
Outfielder Daniel Dillard of Western Oregon went 2-for-4 with 3 stolen bases and designated hitter David Andriese of UC Riverside went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI.
With the win, Corvallis improved to 30-16 in the WCL and clinched first place in the WCL West.
Corvallis will face the Bend Elks in the WCL West Divisional Series, a best-of-three playoff.
Game one is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10th at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend.
Game two is slated for Wednesday, August 11th at Goss Stadium. If necessary, game three will be held at Goss on Thursday, August 12th.
