Tuesday game postponed; DH set for Wednesday.

Poor field conditions at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham postponed Tuesday's West Coast League game between Corvallis and the Bells.

It will be made up Wednesday as part of a 1:05 p.m. holiday doubleheader. The nightcap will start 30 minutes after the opener; both games will be 7 innings.

According to a Bellingham press release, Tuesday's game was postponed when the large amount of water that had accumulated on the field over the last 24 hours made it unplayable.

Right-handers Jorge Perez (pictured; 2-1, 1.57) of Grand Canyon University and AJ Burke (1-2, 4.58) are the Knights projected starting pitchers. Corvallis won 2 of 3 against Bellingham at Goss Stadium on June 26-28 in their previous 2012 series.

WCL co-player of the Week Sean Hartnett, who one-hit the Knights over eight innings in a 6-0 victory in the second game of that aforementioned series, is Bellingham's projected opening-game starter. No starter has been named for the second game.

The series will conclude at 7:05 p.m. Thursday. The Knights (18-7 WCL) are in first place in the West Division; Bellingham (15-9) is in second place in the East Division.
