BlueJackets clip Knights 6-4 to capture series.

Designated hitter Dane Lund (pictured) had two hits and reached base in all five of his at-bats on Saturday but Corvallis fell 6-4 to Kitsap to lose the series.

Kitsap (6-15 WCL) scored four times in the third inning against starter Colin Feldtman to build a comfortable 4-0 lead and the BlueJackets added on from there against the Corvallis bullpen. Kitsap also won Friday's series opener 2-1.

The Knights (13-11 overall, 12-11 WCL) had 10 hits and six walks, but they squandered numerous scoring opportunities. They left 12 runners on base, and also hit into two inning-ending double plays.

In addition to his two hits, Lund walked three times and reached base safely in all five plate appearances. He scored once and his 2-for-2 night raised his average to .328.

Seth Heck had two hits and his two-run single in the ninth brought the Knights within 6-4 with one out. However, Kitsap closer Brandon Luper was summoned and got an inning-ending double play to end the game.

Joe Duffin had two hits, including a double, and Blake Drake doubled for the Knights, who had won five series in a row before this weekend. Nick Ruppert and Grant Melker added RBIs.

Reliever Kevin Flemer, an Oregon State signee, pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief and had two strikeouts. Chad Michaud also had a perfect inning of relief.

The series concludes at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Silverdale, Wash., in a game originally set for 1:35 p.m. Lefty Devon Barker (2-0, 2.90) is the Knights' scheduled starter.

Corvallis opens an 11-game homestand on Tuesday with a 6:40 p.m. game against Bellingham. Wednesday is the annual OSU Federal Credit Union Fireworks Night, starting at 7:15 p.m.
