Knights no-hit by Bend duo in 6-0 loss to Elks.
June 4, 2016The Knights were no-hit for the first time in franchise history on Saturday as they fell 6-0 to Bend in a West Coast League game at Vince Genna Stadium.
Bend starter Kris Jackson, a sophomore at Chemeketa Community College, no-hit the Knights through eight innings before being relieved. He struck out six, walked two and hit a batter.
Linn-Benton reliever Logan Hatley pitched a perfect ninth to complete the no-hitter, striking out the side.
Right-hander Grant Goodman of San Francisco (pictured) was the only Corvallis pitcher to not allow a run. He threw a scoreless eighth inning in his 2016 debut.
The Knights (2-1 all, 1-1 WCL) and the Elks (1-1), the defending WCL champions, will conclude the series at 5:05 p.m. Sunday. Lefty Aaron Pope (Dixie State) is the scheduled starter for the Knights.
The Knights play their first nine games on the road. Their WCL home opener is June 14 against Kelowna, the 2015 WCL runner-up.
