Heck's homer leads Knights in 15-0 blowout of Toros.

Seth Heck (pictured) homered, doubled, singled, scored twice and drove in two runs on Friday to pace the Knights in a 15-0 victory over WCL Portland at Goss Stadium.

The Knights (16-13 all, 14-13 WCL) erupted for 18 hits before a crowd of 1,146 at Goss Stadium. They scored three times in the first and put the game away with a five-run second, capped by Heck's two-run homer, his first of the summer.

Gabe Clark added two doubles, a single, three runs and two RBIs; Grant Melker singled three times and scored three times; Nick Ruppert and Mike Lucarelli had two hits and two runs; Joe Duffin doubled and drove in three runs and Gus Craig tripled, singled and drove in three.

Oregon State signee Kevin Flemer got the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out six and allowed four hits.

Starter Stephen Nogosek, an Oregon signee, stuck out eight and allowed just two hits in 4.1 innings. However, he couldn't be credited with the decision because he did not go five innings.

The Knights host the WCL Portland Lobos at 6:40 p.m. Saturday in a nonleague contest. Oregon rising sophomore Jared Priestley (1-1, 12.00) is the projected starter.

After an off-day on Sunday, Corvallis resumes league play on Monday night against the Wenatchee AppleSox in a rematch of the 2012 WCL Championship Series, won 2-1 by Wenatchee.
