Corvallis captures first road series with 5-4 win at Moses Lake.
June 23, 2007Bryant Hollingsworth (pictured) picked up his first win and Brad Kidd his first save as the Knights took game two of their road series with the East leading Pirates. The win gave Corvallis its third consecutive series victory and improved the club's overall record to 11-3 and league mark to a division best 7-1.
Frosh right-hander Bryant Hollingsworth of Riverside CC went 7 1/3 innings to earn the win allowing 7 hits and 4 runs. Kidd of BYU squelched a Pirates rally in the eighth and went on to earn his first save. Kidd leads the team in appearances with 6 and has recorded 13 strikeouts over 10 2/3 innings.
Matt Wyckoff of George Fox and Kyle Cruikshank, a junior-to be at Lewis-Clark State College, both collected two of the team's 9 hits. Catcher Rocky Gale of University of Portland and shortstop Drew Garcia of UC Riverside had RBI doubles.
Corvallis goes for the sweep on Sunday as the Knights send Mike Koons of San Diego State to the mound.
990 AM is not broadcasting the Moses Lake series, but will resume its Knights broadcasts Monday at Wenatchee.
