Sweets snap Knights 12-game home win streak, Walla Walla edges Corvallis 4-3 before Goss crowd of 1,560.

Starter John Pecoraro (pictured) of San Diego State tossed three innings of no hit ball while striking out 3.

Pecoraro retired all 9 batters he faced.

Reliever Dean McArdle of Stanford was the hard-luck loser as Walla Walla scored in the eighth inning on a disputed call on an errant throw by centerfielder Daniel Dillard of Western Oregon trying to cut down a Walla Walla runner at third.

The umpire's call was that Dillard's throw left the playing field and bounced back on the diamond, and the Sweets' runner was given home plate to give Walla Walla the 4-3 lead.

McArdle pitched well striking out 5 while only allowing two hits and an unearned run.

The Knights out hit the Sweets 8 to 6. Catcher Miles Kizer of UW collected two hits.

With the loss, Corvallis drops to 30-17 in WCL play.

The Knights' final regular season game is Sunday vs. the Sweets. Game time is 5:05 pm.
