Knights blank Kitsap 1-0, sweep series.

Dylan Stuart (pictured) pitched six scoreless innings and relievers Nick Hoover and Mark Trentacosta completed the shutout as Corvallis swept the WCL road series.

Stuart allowed two hits, struck out 10 and picked two runners off in preserving his ERA at 0.00 and winning his second game of the season. He retired the final 14 batters he faced in order and did not allow a hit after the third batter of the game.

The Knights won their seventh game in a row and extended their West Division lead over the BlueJackets to two games. Corvallis is 10-2 in its last 12 WCL games.

Corvallis scored in the second on singles by Kramer Scott and Sean Myrom and a fielders choice by Matt Nylen. Scott scored the winning run in each game of the series.

Kitsaps best threat came in the seventh off Hoover when Evian Potter walked, stole second and took third on a wild pitch with no outs. However, Hoover retired Andrew Biancardi on a comebacker and third baseman Jimmy Allen threw Potter out at home when he tried to score on a grounder by Robby Witt. Spencer Brann then hit into a force play at second to end the inning.

Hoover pitched a perfect eighth and Trentacosta got the BlueJackets 1-2-3 in the ninth for his fourth save and his second save of the series.

The Knights host defending WCL champion Wenatchee at 6:35 p.m. tomorrow in a Block 15 Thursday encounter at Goss Stadium. Its also Albany Night, presented by Samaritan Health Services, and Halloween in June; all fans are encouraged to come in costume.
