Lee starts, Walker saves South team's 3-0 ASG victory.

Starter Slater Lee (pictured) and closer Ryan Walker of Corvallis each pitched a scoreless inning for the South on Monday at the annual West Coast League All-Star Game.

The only Corvallis representatives on the South team, Lee and Walker helped the South to a 3-0 victory over the North before a crowd of 1,985 at Joe Martin Field. Lee retired the North in order in the first inning before being relieved.

A late addition to the squad, Walker allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth to earn the save. He allowed a two-out base hit but then retired the next batter to end the game.

Corvallis skipper Brooke Knight and assistants Connor Lambert and Dane Lund coached the South team to the victory. Kitsap's Jake Scudder had two hits, a walk and a run scored to earn MVP honors.

Hunter Villanueva of Kelowna defeated West Tunnell of Bend to win the Home Run Derby contest. Michael Farris of Corvallis also participated but did not make the finals.

Next year's game will be at David Story Field in Longview, Wash., one of the WCL's most intimate venues.

The Knights (24-17 all, 19-17 WCL) resume WCL action at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday in the opener of a three-game series against Cowlitz at Goss Stadium. It's Les & Bob's T-Shirt Giveaway Night, presented by SERVEPRO; the first 150 fans get a Corvallis Knights t-shirt.

The series continues at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday and at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
