Knights even West Divisional Series with 7-3 win vs. Kitsap at Goss.

Matt Wyckoff (pictured) of George Fox went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, a triple and 4 RBI to lead Corvallis to the home playoff win. Wyckoff broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run triple in the third inning. Jake Roy of Dakota Wesleyan would follow Wyckoff's triple with a RBI infield single putting Corvallis up 4-1 after three complete.

The Knights would go up 6-1 on Wyckoff's two-run hit & run double in the fifth inning.

"I was seeing the ball well," said Wednesday night's star Matt Wyckoff. "A lot of it was guessing and I was hitting fastballs."

Kitsap rallied with two runs in the sixth of starter J.R. Murphy of San Diego State prompting Corvallis skipper Matt Dorey to turn to southpaw Blake Keitzman of Oregon State to snuff the BlueJackets rally. Keitzman did just that and tossed 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to hold the lead. Greg Peavey, a frosh-to be at OSU, finished off Kitsap pitching a scoreless ninth while recording all three outs via strikeout.

Shortstop Josh Hogan of Mt. Hood CC and outfielder Jake Roy both collected three hits. Hogan scored three times and Roy knocked in two runs. The Knights offense banged out 11 hits on the night.

"We hit the ball tonight," said Knights' catcher Rocky Gale. "Yesterday we didn't get hits early, but we did tonight."

J.R. Murphy picked up the win.

481 fans turned out to check out Corvallis' first summer collegiate playoff game.

Like Corvallis, Moses Lake faced elimination at home in its Divisional Series Wednesday night, but the Pirates stayed alive thanks to a late-inning rally. The Pirates scored 4 in the bottom of the eighth to erase a 3-0 deficit and take game two 4-3. With the win, Moses Lake forced a third and final game on Thursday night at Larson Field.

Corvallis and Kitsap will play their Series decider Thursday night at Goss. Game time is 7:05 pm.

"We need to put together some hits," said Corvallis outfielder Braden Wells of tomorrow's game. "If we do that we can win. We need to come out and play hard."

Soph-to be Daniel Bibona of UC Irvine is scheduled to start the decisive third game of the West Division Series.

"We're going to throw Bibona, but we have a lot of other options in the bullpen for tomorrow," said Knights' skipper Matt Dorey.

"They (the Knights pitchers) did a lot of the same stuff they did last night," Dorey commented. "I thought that Massingham threw a good game, we just didn't make a play for him. We had zero errors tonight and that helped us a lot."
