Billy Clontz (pictured) of Western Oregon tied the game at 4-4 with a two-run double in the fifth-inning and collected three hits.
But it was not enough as Corvallis lost its first game since June 14th at Bellingham.
Bend's Jordan Leyland of UC Irvine delivered a two-out bases loaded game-winning RBI single to center off Knights' reliever Drew Leary of San Diego State to break the Knights franchise-best 18-game winning streak.
The Elks gained a game on Corvallis with the win as Bend is now only 3 1/2 games back of the West leading Knights.
The rubber game is set for Sunday at Vince Genna Stadium.
