Corvallis erases early deficit to win at Cowlitz 10-5 on a wintry evening at David Story Field.
July 2, 2010Starter Aaron Corwin (pictured) of Feather River College tossed five innings to earn his first win as a Knight.
The sophomore-to-be at Texas Tech allowed six hits and three runs while striking out 6.
Eric Young of Riverside CC replaced Corwin and pitched two scoreless innings of relief, and Chris Mendoza of Santa Clara finished the game pitching out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth inning to thwart a threat mounted by the Bears against Knights' reliever Ross Pomerantz of Occidental College.
The Black Bears jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but the Knights erased Cowlitz's advantage with one swing of the bat as outfielder David Andriese of UC Riverside tied the game with a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Andriese also doubled and scored in the eighth.
