Falcons rally, snap Knights' 8-game win streak 8-5.

Kevin Kline (pictured) doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Corvallis on Wednesday night in an 8-5 loss at Kelowna.

The Falcons (16-28 WCL) snapped the Knights' (32-16 all, 28-16 WCL) eight-game winning streak and handed them their first setback since a 2-1 loss at Bellingham on July 17. Corvallis had won seven consecutive league games and a nonleague contest.

Shortstop Mike Lucarelli singled twice and was the only other Knight with more than one hit. Right fielder Gus Craig and first baseman Gabe Clark tripled.

Corvallis jumped ahead 2-0 in the second on triples by Clark and Craig and Chad Michaud's sacrifice fly. Kline's infield single scored Nate Blackham to make it 3-0 in the third.

Corvallis fell behind 5-3 in the fourth but tied the game in the fifth on a double steal and Kline's RBI single. That was the last hit for Corvallis.

Knights' starter Alex Nesbitt cruised through the first three innings before being rocked for five hits and five runs in the fourth inning. Reliever Colin Feldtman gave up two runs in the sixth and was tagged with the loss.

The series and six-game Canadian road trip concludes on Thursday night. Lefties Elliot Surrey (4-1, 1.26) of Corvallis and Caleb Olson (2-5, 4.28) of Kelowna are the projected starters.

The Knights' next home game is at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, also against Kelowna, after both teams travel to Corvallis on Friday.
