Bells hammer Knights. Corvallis routed 15-2 at Bellingham.

Daniel Dillard (pictured) of Western Oregon blasted a two-run homer.

Dillard's blast was the Knights lone bright spot as Bellingham trounced its division rival 15-2.

With the win, the Bells took the series and improved to 3-1 in the WCL West while the Knights suffered its second straight WCL series loss and dropped to 1-4.

This is the Knights worst league start in franchise history.

Playing without most of its roster and only nine position players, the Knights ran out of steam on Tuesday night as reliever Ross Pomerantz took the loss. The junior southpaw from Occidental College was the spot starter for Corvallis and was knocked out of the game in the second inning.

10-day contract pitchers Brennen Steinbaugh of Marysville-Pilchuk High School, Taylor Hill of Clackamas CC, Anthony Wirkkala of Clackamas CC and AJ Burke of Linn-Benton CC finished the game and gave up 10 runs.

The Knights defense failed the team in the seventh committing three errors as the Bells scored six runs in the inning, only one was earned.

Corvallis outfielder Michael Blake, third baseman Griffin Boyd and catcher Corey Davis, all of Mt. Hood CC, all collected two hits. In total, the Knights banged out 11 hits, but could only plate two runs.

Game three of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night. You can catch all the action on KEJO 1240 AM.
