Corvallis tops Sweets 7-4, takes series.Future Beaver Nick Madrigal (pictured) swiped six bases to help the Knights increase their league-leading team stolen bases mark to 124.

Corvallis stole 10 bases vs. Walla Walla at Borleske Stadium, with Madrigal leading the way with 6 steals, and increased their team total to 124 stolen bases, which exceeded last season's WCL team mark of 119.

Madrigal went 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored. And broke former Knights' outfielder Grant Melker's WCL Knights' single-season record of 29 steals, set last season, as the frosh-to-be at OSU increased his WCL stolen bases total to 31, one behind Aaron Stroosma's (Bellingham) 32 steals.

Harrison McGhee of Concordia shined on the mound for the Knights. The right-hander from Ramona, California pitched two scoreless innings to stretch his scoreless streak in WCL play to 14 innings and earn his team-leading sixth save.

McGhee struck out 5 Sweets. McGhee has recorded 17 strikeouts and only 3 walks over 14 innings pitched this season.

Michael Martin of UC Irvine picked up the win in relief.

First baseman Michael Farris of UC Riverside collected three RBIs and doubled.

The Knights held their 1.5 game lead over Yakima Valley in the WCL wild-card race with the win. The Pippins beat Cowlitz 2-0 to sweep the Black Bears at David Story Field.
