Knights blank Falcons 3-0 to take home series.

Dylan Jones (pictured) of Oregon State and future Texas Tech Red Raider Aaron Corwin combined to shutout the Falcons.

Jones stymied Kelowna striking out 14 over 7 innings while only allowing one hit to earn his first win of the season.

"Things were going well. I was hitting my spots, using all my pitches and I guess they were missing them so that was pretty nice," said the southpaw from Aloha, Oregon.

Corwin relieved Jones and pitched two scoreless innings to register his first save as the Knights took the rubber game vs. the Falcons before a Monday crowd of 772 at Goss Stadium.

Shortstop Matt Duffy of Long Beach State delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the fifth inning with a clutch two-out RBI single. Duffy would later execute a perfect suicide squeeze to drive in the Knights third and final run as Corvallis scored two more runs in the seventh inning.

"It's one of those things that's tough to pull off, but I executed it and the run was scored," said Duffy commenting on his squeeze bunt.

Duffy went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Frosh catcher Bo Altobelli of Texas Tech singled in the Knights second run in the seventh putting Corvallis up 2-0.

Matt Boyd of OSU collected his second straight pinch-hit single for the Knights.

OSU football player Jordan Poyer of Oregon State scored the Knights third run on Duffy's RBI bunt single.

Griffin Boyd of Mt. Hood CC doubled to open the bottom of the seventh.

With the win, Corvallis is now .500 in WCL action (8-8) and 11-8 overall.

Corvallis welcomes WCL defending champion Wenatchee to Goss tomorrow night as the Knights and AppleSox play game one of a three-game series.
