Jackets rally to stun Knights 5-4 before sellout crowd of 2,930.

The Knights (18-7 WCL, 19-7 overall) appeared to have the game well in hand with a 4-1 lead after seven innings. But Kitsap (8-22 WCL) scored four times off relievers Brandon Jackson and loser Taylor Starr to stun the Knights and the sellout crowd of 2,930 on OSU Federal Credit Union Fireworks Night.

Kitsap reliever Colin Feldtman, a University of Portland sophomore, pitched a perfect ninth for his second save of the series. Oregon State signee Jerad Casper had a triple, double and drove in two runs.

A graduate of Camas (Wash.) High School who is expected to turn down the New York Mets to attend Stanford this season, Barr doubled in the second, singled in the fourth and eighth innings, and was intentionally walked in the sixth, when he scored Corvallis' final run on Nate Esposito�s sacrifice fly.

It was the second game in a row the Knights were held scoreless for five innings, only to break out in the sixth and erase a 1-0 lead. Nate Roberts, Connor Hofmann singled to load the bases and pinch runner Matt Nylen scored the tying run on Greg Mahle's ground out to second.

Barr was walked to reload the bases and reliever Sam Lindquist walked pinch hitter Marc Gallegos to put the Knights ahead 2-1. Whalen came home on a wild pitch and Barr scored the final run.

Oregon State lefty Carlos Rodriguez went five scoreless innings for the Knights. He allowed two hits and a fine play by shortstop Nate Roberts on a grounder up the middle enabled him to escape a two-out, bases-loaded jam in the fifth.

It was just the third loss in the last 17 games for the Knights, who still lead the West Division by 6.5 games over Bend. The Elks picked up a full game on the leaders with a 1-0 win over Kelowna.

Corvallis opens a three-game series at Bellingham on Tuesday; RHP Jorge Perez (2-1, 1.57) of Grand Canyon University is the Knights� scheduled starter. The Knights then head to Kelowna for a single game at on Friday and a doubleheader there on Saturday to conclude a stretch of 13 games in 12 days.

The Knights� next home game is July 9 against Wenatchee.
