Corvallis beats Lobos 10-1 to sweep two-game set before 1,045 at Goss Stadium.

Outfielder Daniel Dillard of Western Oregon homered and doubled three times to lead the Knights.

Dillard's third homer of the season was a monster blast well over the leftfield fence at Goss. The senior-to-be scored three runs and collected 3 RBI.

Corvallis put up 10 runs on 11 hits and sent Knights' fans home happy for a second straight night with a win and FREE taco from Qdoba (if the Knights score 7 or more runs fans get coupons for a FREE taco compliments of Qdoba).

"It's great having a large crowd; the crowd really boosts our momentum. We have a great home crowd here, it's awesome," said Daniel Dillard.

Five Knights' pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts and held the Lobos to one run.

Scott Lyman of UC Davis made his first appearance going 4 innings. The sophomore gave up a run and struckout 4.

Nick Hoover of UC Irvine picked up the win as the junior-to-be pitched a scoreless fifth and punched out 3.

Matt Boyd of OSU pitched two scoreless innings, John Pecoraro of San Diego State one scoreless inning and Mitch Patito of UCR finished with a scoreless inning as the bullpen put up goose eggs for the final five innings.

Outfielders David Andriese of UCR and Mitch Haniger of Cal Poly had big days at the plate as Andriese went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI and a double and Haniger went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Jordan Poyer of OSU replaced Haniger in centerfield and went 1-for-1 with 2 RBI.

The Knights scored 33 runs vs. the Lobos.

With the win, Corvallis is now 6-6 overall.

Alums Tony Fair, Eric Gunderson and Jeff Hammack were in the house on Pioneer Telephone Military Appreciation & Fireworks Night.

1,045 braved a rainy day to come to the park. The evening turned out to be beautiful and fans were treated to a spectacular fireworks display.

"It feels great to be back watching the Knights play. This is dear to my heart, it truly is; all these guys are special individuals, they're getting a great opportunity to showcase their talent which is awesome," said Knights Baseball Club board of director and former Knight Tony Fair.

Ex-Big Leaguer Eric Gunderson and Knights Baseball Club board member said, "As a former Knight, it's nice to come back and watch them play. They're a great group of guys."

Knights' alum Jeff Hammack said, "It's always good to be back here in this venue, it's an outstanding place to watch baseball. You don't have a bad seat in the house. It's high caliber baseball and it's great to have the Knights in Corvallis."

The Knights play Richey's Market on Father's Day in a 7-inning game at Goss Stadium.

Richey's is the Mid-Valley's premier American Legion program.
