Knights fall 4-1 to Rogues in seventh straight loss.

Michael McAdoo, Junior, (pictured) continued his hot hitting but Corvallis suffered its seventh straight loss on Saturday, 4-1 at Medford.

It was the ninth loss in their last 10 games for Corvallis (7-13 all, 6-13 WCL). Medford improved to 7-9.

The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a triple by McAdoo Jr., a recent graduate of De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif., who will attend UC Santa Barbara, and an RBI groundout by Emilio Alcantar (Linn-Benton). McAdoo Jr. has three hits in his last two games after starting the summer 0-for-8.

Josh George (Cal Poly) followed with a single, but he was caught stealing. The Knights didn't get another hit until there was one out in the ninth, and did not advance another runner past first base.

Shortstop Nick Madrigal (Oregon State) and second baseman Christian Donahue (OSU) had the other hits for Corvallis. Madrigal was stranded at third base in the first inning, Donahue at first in the ninth.

Starter Dakody Clemmer (Central Arizona JC) gave up eight hits and four runs in seven innings, with two strikeouts.

Game 2 of the series is set for 6:35 p.m. Saturday at Harry & David Field; Cory Nelson (Pacific Lutheran) is our projected starter. The finale is set for 6:35 p.m. Sunday; Cameron Bishop (UC Irvine) will make his first start of the summer.

Corvallis's next home game is a Monday exhibition against the U-19 Colts, a touring Australian all-star team.
