Knights sweep BlueJackets, beat Kitsap 5-1 at David Story Field in Longview, Washington.

Frosh Kyle Kraus (pictured) of University of Portland pitched 7 solid innings to earn the win.

With the victory, the right-hander from West Linn, Oregon improved his record to 5-0.

Kraus allowed no earned runs to lower his ERA to 2.51.

The Knights pushed across two runs in the fifth on a bases loaded double by Dylan Jones of Mt. Hood CC, which turned out to be enough to sweep Kitsap on the road thanks to another stellar performance by the team's pitching staff.

Corvallis loaded the bases for Jones on consecutive hard-hit singles by second baseman Doug Cherry of UW, centerfielder Pat Colwell of San Diego State and shortstop Richie Jimenez of Riverside CC.

The Knights scored three more runs in the sixth as Corvallis once again loaded the bases with no outs. This time Kitsap helped get things started with a hits batsman and two throwing errors on fielder's choice plays.

From there, Cherry delivered a RBI single to left, Colwell plated a run on a fielder's choice groundout and Jones delivered the Knights' final run on a sacrifice fly.

Cherry went 3-for-5, Jones knocked in three and Colwell and DJ Johnson both collected two hits.

Junior Eric LeBaron of San Jose State made his Knights' debut in the 8th and went on to pitch two scoreless innings to finish off the BlueJackets.

With the win, Corvallis concluded its longest road trip of the season by winning 11 of 14 road games (one loss included the completion of a June 17 suspended game at Kitsap). The Knights improved their overall record to 33-6 and league mark to 24-6, seven games in front of second place Bellingham who visits Goss Stadium Monday for a three-game WCL West series.
