Dalton Kelly's (pictured) three-run homer staked Corvallis to an early 5-0 lead and they held on to defeat Medford 8-3 on Saturday to win their West Coast League series.

A rising junior at UC Santa Barbara, Kelly's seventh homer of the summer came in the fourth inning; he also singled and scored twice. He is fourth in the WCL in homers, and sixth in RBIs with 34.

West Albany grad Jackson Soto doubled and singled twice and Logan Ice, Soto's future teammate at Oregon State, singled twice and drive in a run. Tim Rausch (Western Oregon) doubled and had two RBIs.

Knights' (40-18 all, 35-18 WCL) starter Jason Snodgrass (Concordia) gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, with two strikeouts. Austin Sodders (Riverside City College) and Joey Wise (Grand Canyon/Gateway CC in 2014-15) finished up with three perfect innings. Sodders had four strikeouts in two innings and Wise struck out the side in the ninth.

The series and regular season concludes at 6:35 p.m. Sunday. Jake Otness (1-0, 1.03) of Pacific Lutheran is the scheduled starter for the Knights, opposed by Christian Cox (2-2, 3.41) of Nebraska.

The Knights will open the semifinals of the WCL playoffs at Bend on Tuesday. Game 2 and Game 3 (if necessary) will be in Corvallis at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
