Lenahan's single gives Knights 3-2 win in extras.

Cody Lenahan's (pictured) bases-loaded single with one out in the 14th inning gave Corvallis a 3-2 victory over Kelowna on Saturday at Goss Stadium.

A rising junior-to-be third baseman at Portland, Lenahan fouled off three 3-2 pitches before rocketing a single past the shortstop that scored Gus Craig of Columbia. Craig led off the inning with a walk, was sacrificed to second, and then advanced to third on two more walks.

The Knights (33-17 all, 29-17 WCL) maintained their half-game lead over Bend in the South Division pennant race, as the Elks won 2-1 at Bellingham to keep pace. Corvallis moved four games ahead of third-place Medford, which lost at Cowlitz; the top two teams in each division advance to the postseason.

Corvallis pitchers Colin Feldtman (4.1) and winner Devon Barker (4.2) combined for nine innings of scoreless, four-hit relief. Feldtman struck out seven and retired the last 11 Falcons (17-29 WCL) he faced in order.

Kelowna scored once in the first but the Knights tied it in the last of the fourth on a solo homer by Blake Drake of Concordia, his third of the summer. Kelowna went back ahead 2-1 in the fifth but Corvallis tied it again 2-2 in the seventh on a two-out single by Chris Rabago, a balk, and a single by Oregon State's Kavin Keyes, who was 2-for-6 with an RBI in his Knights' debut.

Saturday's marathon tied for the Knights' longest game of the season. They also lost with one out in the last of the 14th on opening night at Wenatchee. They are now 2-4 in extra-inning games.

The series concludes today with a 5:05 p.m. doubleheader; both games will be seven innings. Projected starters for the Knights are right-handers Jacob Schroeder (3-0, 2.01) and Jorge Perez (0-1, 1.72).
