Corvallis beats Sweets 6-3 at Borlekse Stadium in Walla Walla.

Closer Mitch Patito (pictured) of UC Riverside registered his seventh save of the season.

Patito pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record the save. Walla Walla collected the first hit of the summer off Mitch. Patito is 7-for-7 in save opportunities and has yet to allow a run.

The Knights scored 4 runs in the first to jump on the expansion Sweets in the two clubs inaugural meeting.

The four-run uprising was highlighted by a bases loaded two-run single by Daniel Dillard of Western Oregon.

Starter Dylan Jones of Oregon State earned the win as the southpaw tossed five solid innings allowing only two runs.

Reliever Nick Hoover of UC Irvine was stellar tossing two shutout innings while striking out 5.

With the win, Corvallis snaps its two-game losing streak and improves to 14-10 in WCL play and 17-10 overall.

The Knights and Sweets finish their two-game set Wednesday night. Game time is 7:05 pm.
