Kelowna snaps Knights 8-game win streak, beats Corvallis 9-2 at Elks Stadium.

Outfielder Daniel Dillard (pictured) of Western Oregon went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run.

Corvallis took an early 2-0 lead off the WCL's top hurler Dayne Quist of UC Davis. In the top of the second, Dillard, a senior-to-be, blasted a two-run blast on the first pitched offered by Quist with Mitch Haniger of Cal Poly on first.

The homer was Dillard's fourth in WCL play, and fifth on the season.

Quist tossed seven solid innings to earn his league-leading sixth win. The southpaw beat Corvallis twice this summer.

Down 2-1, Kelowna scored 7 runs in the fifth inning to break the game open.

Starter John Pecoraro of San Diego State pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowed 7 earned runs and took the loss.

Junior first baseman Dylan Jones of Oregon State collected two singles.

With the defeat, Corvallis (25-15) falls into a tie for first place with Bend in the WCL West.

The rubber game of the series is set for Thursday night at Elks Stadium. Game time is 7:05 pm.
