Bend shuts out Knights 7-0 on wintry evening at Goss Stadium.

Reliever Nathan Eisenhauer (pictured) of Pacific Lutheran University tossed 3 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball.

The Bend Elks routed Corvallis 7-0 to take the series. With the loss, the Knights drop to 3-6 while Bend improves to 5-2.

Corvallis has now lost three WCL series, more than the entire 2009 season.

The lone bright spot was Eisenhauer who only allowed two hits over 3 1/3 innings.

Bend tallied 10 hits while Corvallis could only muster 3 singles.

The series finale is Thursday night at 6:35 pm.

You can catch tomorrow's game on KEJO 1240 AM. Mike Parker and Jason Schwartz call all the action.

NOTES: The game was played in unseasonably cold weather. It rained during the game for only the second time in the team's history in Corvallis. Chris Mendoza of Santa Clara made his Knights debut and took the loss. Mendoza struggled with his control and was knocked out in the fifth inning. The frosh from San Jose gave up 5 hits, 5 earned runs and three walks. He was replaced by Nick Hoover of UC Irvine who was rudely greeted by the Elks in his 2010 season debut as Hoover was touched up for two runs in the fifth. OSU football player Jordan Poyer made his debut striking out in the ninth as a pinch-hitter. Bo Altobelli of Texas Tech made his Knights' debut at catcher and went 1-for-4.
