Dakody Clemmer of Central Arizona College pitched six innings of shutout baseball to earn the win in his last start as a Knight for summer 2015.

With the win, Corvallis extends its wild card lead to two games over the Yakima Valley Pippins.

After getting shutout the night prior, the Knights scored 9 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 12-0 win to take the series vs. the Gems and improve Corvallis' record to 25-20. With the victory, the Knights earned their 30th win overall on the summer.

Clemmer, closer Harrison McGhee of Concordia and Gary Steindorf of Western Oregon combined on a shutout for the Knights.

"School starts early in Arizona and I need to get back down there to get in the swing of things. It was expected from the start due to having a lot of innings in the spring and this summer," said Dakody.

"On how it has been to play with this group of guys...I loved it. I'm a man of few words I just absolutely loved it and hope to come back next year."

Offensive star Emilio Alcantar commented, "this is Knights baseball...I felt as a team we came out and swung the bats a lot better. We were patient with the pitch count. I think that is the type of baseball we are accustomed to playing.

"Last night kind of got away from us a little bit."

The Knights play a non-conference game Friday night at Goss Stadium vs. the OCBL All-Stars. Austin Kelly of Linn-Benton CC is the probable starter on Cap Night present by the Mario Pastega House.
